My main current research activity is the investigation of potential uptake and elimination of nanoparticles by terrestrial invertebrates, representing a possible pathway for nanomaterials upon their release to the environment. My work contributes to the study of the environmental fate of nanomaterials as part of the european project NanoFase.

My work mainly encompasses modelling of biokinetic data and exploring the physiological basis of data variabilty; such as organism size/age/health status. I have experience in the application of mechanistic and empirical models to biological and ecological data in the field of aquatic microbial ecology and physiology.

My other research activity is the evaluation of antimicrobial activity of realistic products containing silver nanoparticles.
