My main research activity is investigating the intreactions between nanomaterials and enzymes, especially acetylcholinesterase, and the impact of protein corona on the biological activity of nanomaterials.

My research interests are also in:

  • Enzyme kinetics
  • Biochemistry
  • Protein structure

I graduated in pre-Bologna study of Biology (2009) from the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The title of the thesis is Effects of drainage ditch cleaning on the presence of amphibians in a part of Ljubljansko barje [ pdf ]

Awards, honors, and grants:

  • (2012) Innovative scheme of co-funding doctoral studies for promotion of cooperation with economy and solving contemporary social challenges – generation 2012 (partially funded by Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and partially by European Union via European Social Fund)

International activities:

  • (2014) Poster titled Albumin pre-coating of carbon-based nanoparticles reduces their sorbent and inhibitory potential for cholinesterases at Nanotox 2014, 7th International Nanotoxicology Congress, 23rd-26th April, Antalya, Turkey Nanotox2014
