Microscopy in Focus: Our Team at the 17th Multinational Congress on Microscopy

Showcasing Advanced Microscopy in Nanomaterial Research

Sara and Valentina attended the 17th Multinational Congress on Microscopy (17MCM), held from 7–12 September 2025 in the beautiful seaside town of Portorož. Sara presented two talks, Cytotoxicity Assessment of Functionalized Graphene and The Power of FIB-SEM: Visualising Material Internalization, based on research led by Damjana, highlighting advanced microscopy techniques in nanomaterial research. Valentina presented her research on the correlation between micro- and nanoplastics adhesion and their effects on swimming behaviour and developmental outcomes in zebrafish, studied through SEM microscopy.

Beyond the inspiring scientific sessions, the congress offered a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends, exchange ideas within the microscopy community, and enjoy the stunning seaside venue.
