PlasticsFatE Final Meeting and Round Table
28 January 2025, Frankfurt, Germany
Translating Nanoplastics Research Into Policy Dialogue
On January 28, Sara Michelini and Damjana Drobne took part in the PlasticsFatE Round Table on Micro- and Nanoplastics (MNPs), hosted by DECHEMA in Frankfurt. The meeting marked a key milestone for the project, contributing to the further development of policy recommendations, progress on standardisation initiatives, and the identification of regulatory pathways to address the multifaceted challenges associated with MNPs.
Conducted under the Chatham House Rule, the round table enabled open and constructive exchanges. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on exposure and hazard assessment, implications for human and environmental health, collaboration with industry, harmonisation of research approaches, and effective public engagement.
