Visiting Berlin: Research Stay at BAM
2–13 June 2025, Berlin, Germany
Advanced Material Characterization and Research Training
Our colleague Špela spent two intensive weeks at the beginning of June at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) in Berlin, where she carried out sample characterization for her PhD research. During her stay, she successfully performed SEM, EDX, and XPS analyses, generating a large amount of valuable data in a short time.
In addition to working in the laboratories at Division 6.1 at BAM, Špela also had the opportunity to visit the BAM headquarters and the nearby Free University of Berlin, gaining further insight into the institution’s research environment and infrastructure.
The visit was highly educational and productive, allowing her to learn new methods, deepen her expertise, and strengthen collaboration with project partners. Alongside the scientific work, there was also time to explore and enjoy the many cultural highlights Berlin has to offer.
